What is Low-Grade Fibromyxoid Sarcoma (LGFMS)?

Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma is a slow-growing form of soft tissue sarcoma. In most cases, it occurs in the deep soft tissues of the thighs, chest, or abdomen. This characteristic allows diagnosticians to narrow down which soft tissue sarcoma is present in the human body, particularly since there are more than 50 different types.
Only a painless mass or lump, typically in the proximal extremities, is the known symptom of low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma. Furthermore, there are currently no identifiable causes and risk factors for LGFMS.
