For starters, fruits and vegetables are a staple in every homeowner’s kitchen. Experts agree that fruits and vegetables are some of the primary sources of good nutrition. Women whose diets are rich in zesty fruits and leafy vegetables are more capable of clearing HPV infections, in comparison to those who avoid greens. If it means preventing cancer, wouldn’t you include more veggies in your diet, too? That being said, here are the components you should look for when preparing your meals:

Stock Up on Flavonoids

Flavonoids are found in fruits and vegetables and are thought to be the head honcho when it comes to beating cancer to the curb. To get your daily dose of flavonoids, eat more apples, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, garlic, lettuce, onions, soy, and spinach.

Glycemic index (GI) refers to how a carbohydrate-laden food raises glucose or blood sugar. Foods that take a while to digest can encourage stable glucose levels, indicating low GI ratings. On the other hand, foods that are quickly broken down, such as rice and potatoes, rate high on GI ratings. You want to consume food that takes a while to digest to reduce your cancer risk. To do this, stock up on non-starchy vegetables, fruits, and legumes.
